ประกาศออกมาแล้ว สำหรับรายชื่อผู้เข้าชิงรางวัล MTV Video Music Awards หรือ VMA ประจำปี 2017 เวทีอันทรงเกียรติอีกหนึ่งเวทีของวงการเพลงที่หลายคนติดตาม โดยในปีนี้แร๊ปเปอร์ชื่อดัง Kendrick Lamar ที่มากับเพลง “Humble” ได้รับการเสนอชื่อเข้าชิงมากที่สุดถึง 8 สาขาด้วยกัน ตามมาด้วยสาวแข Katy Perry และหนุ่มสตาร์บอย The Weeknd ที่เข้าชิงทั้งหมด 5 สาขา
ความดีงามของปีนี้ที่เพิ่มเติมเข้ามาเป็นพิเศษคือ สาขา Best Female Video และ Best Male Video จะไม่ถูกแบ่งแยกรางวัลด้วยเพศอีกต่อไป ทั้ง 2 สาขานี้ถูกยุบรวมจนเหลือสาขาเดียว คือ Artist of the Year นั่นเอง
