a ligature, not listed in the alphabet, having the combined consonantand vowel sound of ริ (ri), or เรอ (rir, as in sir),or รึ (rue, as in the French rue but shorter). The form ฤา has the longersound of รือ (very much like the French rue) The ligatures ฦand ฦา (pronounced ลึ and ลือ) are now practically obsolete
