Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems,[1] is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer. Tems family moved to the United Kingdom shortly after birth. Her parents separated when she was five, and relocated to Ilupeju, before moving to Lekki, then Ajah. At school she was noticed by her music teacher and she learned the piano. She would practice singing with her brother's guitar accompaniment. Born: 11 June 1995 Years active: 2015–present In 2020, her collaboration with Wizkid on their song "Essence" earned her a number one spot on BBC 1Xtra Airplay Chart. On 2 September 2021, It was announced on billboards in Lagos that Tems was set to feature on singer Drake's Certified Lover Boy album.
